How do i make icons smaller on my Acer Notebook?

i have an Acer notebook computer.I want too make the icons smaller.The icons are right on the Laptop as soon as i turn it on.

Right click any blank spot on the start desk top screen click properties and click setting tab lower screen resolution to make larger or raise screen resolution to make smaller click OK/Apply and save close window.
