what cable do i need to connect old G5 power mac to new imac?

i want to transfer my files from my old power mac G5 to my new imac – can anyone tell me the name of the cable i need to get? is it 400 to 800 firewire? why did they change the firewire port? i can’t connect my external harddrive either! help?!

Take a Firewire cable and plug one end into the old computer and one into the new one then start the file transfer process. It should finish in less than 2 hours depending on how much stuff you have.
